These two high-energy boys kept me on my toes and laughing. The older
boy is a force to be reckoned with - he is SUPER smart, HIGHLY verbal,
and just overflowing with personality. A total ham, he cracks himself
up! Not that the younger boy is a quiet wallflower by any means. Refusing to
be lost in his big brother's big shadow, he is just as confident and joyful, but maybe not AS goofy =). Together, they are hilarious
and quite entertaining!
The first series of photos below make
me giggle every time I look at them. Love their expressions and quintessential brotherly interactions. Always fun to show what happens
BEFORE the smiling-at-the-camera shot.

Happy Holidays with the 'S' Family | Washington, DC Baby, Family Photographer
I met the lovely 'S' Family a couple days before Christmas, while their relatives from Germany were in town to celebrate the holidays and their first grandchild's 6 month birthday. The little boy is one lucky fellow, as he is showered with SO much love from all directions. And he reciprocates with such adorable smiles, giggles, and cuddles - you would never guess that his relatives lived thousands of miles away and don't get to see him very often. He definitely had a sweet relationship with his grandmother who had a special knack for making him laugh.
Thank you to not only the 'S' Family, but also to all of the wonderful families that I had the honor of working with this year. I am grateful to each and every one of you, for allowing me to capture such special moments in your lives. Thank you and Happy New Year!

Watch out! Brotherly love coming through! | Alexandria, VA Child and Family Photographer
Big brother 'W' is ALL BOY. During our entire session, he was so full of energy - running, dancing, singing, laughing, making funny faces, and throwing leaves. He barely stayed in one place for very long. But every so often, he would pause and shower his sister with affection. Little sister 'M' may seem like a sweet and delicate little princess, but she can definitely hold her own against the onslaught of brotherly hugs and kisses. Super cute together!
So wonderful to see the 'D' family again. Love our annual reunions of sort. And thanks so much for being such good sports about all the leafy play. The kids certainly had a blast with them!

A Sunny Sunday with the 'S' Family | Washington, DC Child and Family Photographer
I met the lovely and beautiful 'S' family on a cool, brisk November afternoon. Despite the falling temps, the little girl was a such a cheerful and smiley doll, just a darling. Meanwhile, big brother was impressively outgoing, friendly, and articulate. Immediately upon meeting me, he had so much to tell me about his new preschool, Halloween, and Transformers - all very important topics for a little boy. Now I know why his grandmother takes so many pictures of him - a beautiful child, so photogenic and a joy to work with.
Thank you 'S' family for braving the cold and time change to come out and play with me!

Don't Worry, Just Leave it to Me | Alexandria, VA Child and Family Photographer
The holiday season should be filled with joy and happiness, not dread and torture over trying to take your own family photo using a tripod and timer. The 'C' family has always had lovely holiday photos, but at a cost to their sanity. After too many years of blood, sweat, and tears, they finally gave up on doing it themselves and reached out to me for help. It's amazing how kids just respond so much better when there is someone on the other side of the camera who is NOT mom or dad. Especially if the photographer is a total goofball. ;)
And sure enough, although the boys were a bit shy at first, I got some of the best smiles of the session right out of the gate. And they both had the loveliest smiles - such handsome fellas! They were wonderful to work with - gentle, cooperative, and willing to try different things. We even had a bit of an injury, but the brave boy soldiered on. What a trooper!
I sure hope that our session was a pleasant experience for the boys and that their takeaway is that taking photos is FUN!
